Paige and I dressed up Reid in real clothes for the first time.

We came home from the hospital and were greeted by our friends Jeff and Sarah along with our roommate Dana. They helped us introduce Reid to Dexter (our Ibizan Hound), move around some furniture, unload the car and generally help us feel less panicked.

The first night was a little tough, but really not too bad. We didn't get much sleep, but like in the hospital we took turns taking care of the baby while the other one slept.

The second night went amazingly well. It's crazy how 5 hours of sleep feels like a luxury - even when it came in two hour and one hour chunks. We figured out how to swaddle Reid a little better by using four hands instead of two. That really helped us get her to sleep alone in the Pack-N-Play while we slept.
Today, we went on our first road trip with Reid. We got her into her car seat and the stroller that goes with it. It was pretty cool to feel a little bit mobile.

The trip was to the Pediatric Orthopedist to get a brace that will help her hips grow properly - both of them are dislocated. It looks a little goofy, but hopefully it will work. She will wear them for 6 weeks. Then, we will check to see if they are working. If they are working, she will wear them for another 6 weeks. If it doesn't look like the brace will be enough, we will probably need to give her a cast to hold her legs in place. Yeah, it sucks. It's been rough at times today. The brace isn't uncomfortable for her, and only slightly annoying for us, but the whole things is... a little sad.

Today we had some good things happen. Our pediatrician came over - yes, this guy only does house calls. Dr. Steve weighed Reid and she is now 7 pounds - which is more than her birth weight! That is a really important sign that the breast feeding is working and that Reid is generally healthy. Also, Reid isn't showing signs of jaundice - which is cool since both my brother and I had that.
We also gave Reid her first bath. She didn't like it much, but she really handled it pretty well. She never got to those blood-curdling-screams that turn her head red. Plus, it was pretty special and fun.
