That's right! Our little munchkin turns one-third today. To celebrate the occasion, we have put together a little montage of her birthday photos from each month thus far. Boy has she grown!
What has she learned in her short life?
1. How to enjoy mother's milk directly from the source. (Despite our very early concerns about this, it has been a great experience for both of the girls.)
2. How to drink from a bottle.
3. How to refuse to drink from a bottle for 10 hours and convince her parents that she is stubborn and wants to make their lives difficult.
4. How to get her hands into her mouth. She is entertained by this day and night.
5. How enjoyable it is to ride on daddy's shoulders and pull his hair (see attached photo).
6. How to squeal to the world about her plans for world domination using an obscure language only understood by Reid and a few very intelligent pigs in Cornwall.
7. How to roll onto her right side.
8. How to smile and light up her parents' hearts.
If you try to entertain her, it usually doesn't work, but she loves to be tied to your belly and "help" you vacuum, run errands, cook dinner or fold laundry. We are still trying to find ways for her to entertain herself. Her Mia (grandmother Thompson) sent her an early Christmas present to this end - an exersaucer. She needs to gain a little more muscle strength to utilize it on her own (see attached photo), but her parents have high hopes that this will free their hands a bit more.
After Christmas we will be back to the tribal homeland in Oklahoma. Among many other relatives, there are four uncles that are looking forward to seeing their niece for the first time. We will be flying there because we want to see what it is like to be "those people who brought the screaming child just to make other peoples' flight miserable."
